Beginners Open Water Swimming
Relaxed sessions for beginners in beautiful locations. Find your feet in open water with no pressure to swim a certain stroke or distance.
Book a solo session or come with a friend. Want to swim on your own and bring someone to watch? No problem. These sessions are dog friendly too.
All the equipment you need to get started is provided and we have a nice cup of tea afterwards. As well as swimming, I will talk to you about safety considerations and how to choose the best place to swim.
These sessions are not swimming lessons and you should be able to comfortably swim for 20 minutes in a pool. Speed and stroke is not important but the ability to tread water for several minutes will be beneficial.
Beginner swims are primarily offered in the north-west Lake District, and other parts of Cumbria by arrangement. A detailed information sheet will be emailed to you on booking.

Guided swims tailored to your ability and experience. Great for outdoor swimmers wanting to expand their horizons and explore new locations.
Equipment hire is available including wetsuits, thermal swim socks and gloves, and swim bags. Changing robes and refreshments are provided.

Full and half day swim-hikes
Learn about swimhiking where the swim is part of the journey as much the walk.
We can go low or high and anywhere inbetween. Walk to the edge of a lake, swim across and continue the journey on the other side.
Swim Secure bags are provided - enabling us to tow our clothes, rucksacks, and footwear across the water.
I can suggest a route or we can plan it together. The only limit is your imagination!
