If you would like a relaxed swim in a beautiful setting then you have come to the right place. I offer guided wild swimming experiences in the Lake District all year round. I set up the business for swimmers like me; people who love getting out and experiencing open water without the pressure of competing or keeping up. It’s not a race, I swim at your pace, I don't expect you to swim at mine.
You can book a bespoke swim at a time and date to suit you. Detailed below are the types of bespoke swim you can book with me ranging from beginner level to more adventurous outings. Bespoke experiences allow you to take your time, great if you are nervous about swimming with a group or keeping up. I'll let you in on a secret though; 99% of swimmers who think they are too slow are usually not.
These bespoke sessions are available as a private experience just for you, or you can book with a friend or partner. I also offer private group experiences if you would like to come with several friends or members of your family. Want to swim on your own and bring someone to watch? No problem. These sessions are dog friendly too. Please note I do not offer swims for children under the age of 18.
Under normal circumstances I run a monthly group session for beginners, and a regular social swim group for refreshers/intermediates. Group swims take place all year round and can be booked via the group swim tab. These swims are led at a leisurely pace and ideal for breaststroke swimmers. The group size is small, usually no more than 10 swimmers. Please note that things are a little bit different this year as my business recovers from the impact of the covid pandemic and available dates are limited.
My sessions are based predominantly in the north/west Lake District in Bassenthwaite Lake, Buttermere, Crummock Water, Derwentwater, Loweswater, and Wastwater. I also cover Borrowdale and Eskdale for adventure swims. Sessions are not ordinarily held in Brothers Water, Coniston Water, Grasmere, Rydal Water, Ullswater, and Windermere but can be arranged in these locations on request. Swims can be at any time of day from sunrise to sunset. Depending on the season, I will advise on the best time of day for your swim particularly during school holidays.
Once you have booked, you will receive an information sheet by email telling you everything you need to bring and where to meet. Refreshments are included on most sessions and you will be advised if you need to bring a packed lunch. Wetsuits are included on some swims and for hire on others. Please check the type of swim below for more details. Please note: the session time advertised is the total time you should allow from start to finish, not just the swim time.

Online - from £25
Hang on a minute, you can’t guide a swim via zoom can you? Well not quite, but if you live further afield or you simply can’t travel, I can offer guidance via an online session. This service is also available for swimmers locally who feel they might benefit from a chat before booking a session or want to follow up from a previous in-person session. I also cover wetsuit advice and general swim safety. These typically last an hour and are personalised to your circumstances and location. Bring your own refreshments.
