15-05-2023 Rannerdale

A gentle walk and swim taking in the famous Rannerdale Bluebells. We swim first, and then head into the fragrant Rannerdale Valley to enjoy the riot of blooms. 

This is a relaxed swim and suitable for swimmers who are new to swimming outdoors. You should be confident swimming out of your depth, however it is possible to remain close to shore on this swim. There is no distance; we are dipping and bobbing. Breaststroke is encouraged. Skins and wetsuit welcome.

Take a relaxed wander amongst one of the famous natural wonders of the Lake District, combined with a swim in the best sunset location on Crummock Water. Includes a reading from my book Swimming Wild in the Lake District.

Some gentle inclines but no steep hills.
Minimum swimming experience applies.
Breaststroke and front crawlers welcome. Newbie friendly.
