Borrowdale Wild Swimming Walk, May

Beautiful Borrowdale never disappoints! This wild swimming walk is always popular thanks to the awesome scenery and fantastic river gorge for swimming and dipping. Experience some of the best waterfall and glacial river pool swimming the Lakes have to offer. 

On this relaxed pace walk we make our way up the Langstrath Valley to swim in the wild swimming jewel, Black Moss Pot. Surrounded by magnificent mountain scenery this really is the ultimate wild swim. Clear cool water tumbles down from the high fells filling ancient rock pools and waterfalls where we can dip and swim to our hearts content.

Bring a packed lunch to enjoy after swimming, and we will almost certainly end the day at the famous Langstrath Inn. This is a walk that should be on every wild swimmers wish list! 

A packing list and meeting point is sent after booking. On this walk you will have a qualified and insured swim guide to help you get the most out of the experience and it enjoy it safely. Skins and wetsuit welcome.

Total ascent: 125m (approx)

• Undulating walk with some inclines.
• Minimum swimming experience applies.
• Breaststroke only.
• Dogs welcome with conditions. 

Prerequisites for this event

A baseline level of fitness that allows you to walk and cary a backpack whilst maintaining a chatty pace. This is a leisurely paced walk, not fast. 

Able to walk on uneven terrain - the paths are rocky and will be wet in places but are not steep. 

Swimmers must be comfortable swimming out of their depth and able to clamber up and down short sections of rock to access the water.

Tow floats are not permitted and swimmers must be confident swimming without one.
