Brathay Swim Safari

This secret swim weaves down a river with views usually reserved for ducks. We walk to our start point and then glide along beneath the river bank. This is a one-way swim, which means we start in one place and finish in another.

This is a very leisurely swim and we mostly swim head-up breaststroke at a relaxed pace. However, for safety reasons there are minimum and maximum experience requirements for this swim. You must be able to swim 1km in open water, and have recent relevant experience of outdoor swimming. If you are used to swimming front crawl, and distances above 2km, this swim might be too slow for you. Don’t let that put you off booking though. If you are over or under experienced for the group session, we can arrange a bespoke date to suit you.

Non-wetsuit swimmers are welcome, with evidence of their experience. You will need a submersible dry-bag large enough for your clothes and these can be hired.

This event is weather dependent and in the case of a low river level an alternative swim will be offered.
