About the event
Back on the calendar!
When Suzanna Swims first started taking groups into the Lakes, this was one of the original wild swimming adventures. We are delighted to have it back on the calendar for summer 2024!
A swim hike is the ultimate way to appreciate Buttermere, giving us all the views and zero road walking. On this route you will enjoy one of the best lakeshore walks in the Lake District covering around 4.5km with minimal ascent. If you don't like hills, this is for you! The lakeshore path gently undulates with no steep sections but is rough in places. Whilst we are not quite in flip-flop territory, you don't need walking boots to tackle the walk. When we reach our crossing point, there is ample faffing time to get your kit stowed in dry-bags before we make the crossing to the other shore. Our walk then continues back to Buttermere village and maybe a cheeky pub visit too!
Suitable for experienced swimmers and confident newbies, this is a relaxed swim aimed at leisure swimmers who enjoy taking it easy and enjoying the view. Breaststroke preferred, front crawl swimmers also welcome.
