Derwent Swoosh

With expansive views, deep river pools, and effortless swimming, this swim highlights the very best of the River Derwent.

We walk to our start point and then glide along beneath the river bank, keeping an eye out for otters and kingfishers. This is a one-way swim, which means we start in one place and finish in another.

This is a very leisurely swim and we mostly swim head-up breaststroke at a relaxed pace. However, for safety reasons there are minimum and maximum experience requirements for this swim. You must be able to swim 1km in open water, and have recent relevant experience of outdoor swimming. If you are used to swimming front crawl, and distances above 2km, this swim might be too slow for you. Don’t let that put you off booking though. If you are over or under experienced for the group session, we can arrange a bespoke date to suit you.
