Eskdale River Dipper

Come and see Eskdale in all its glory on this low level wander, tracing the river Esk along the valley floor and dipping in some of the Lake District's cleanest and purest water.

We start off with a trip on La'al Ratty, surely the best way to start any walk! We are following a linear route from A to B so once have alighted from the train, we are on foot for the rest of the day, following the Esk Trail along the river. There is a small amoutn of road walking and the rest is on a mixed terrain path with no steep climbs. The pace on this walk is relaxed to allow for slower speeds and lots of chit-chat. Along the way we will be dipping and swimming in the river, with 3 or 4 opportunites to get tin the water - based on conditions and group ability/enthusiasm…
