Eskdale Wild Swimming Walk (August)

Welcome back to this popular old favourite. On this wild swimming walk we take in the highlights of Eskdale, swimming in the cleanest and purest water you could imagine. It doesn’t get better than Eskdale. 

Although the route on the day depends on the forecast, you can expect there to be some uphill hiking as well as valley level walking. You should be comfortable walking on upland terrain and carrying a backpack with everything you need for the day. The overall walking distance does not exceed 5 miles and the height gained not above 700ft. 

There are usually two swims or dips, suitable for swimmers comfortable swimming out of their depth, and able to swim breaststroke and tread water.

We have a picnic lunch (bring your own) and we might also call in at a pub or cafe.
