Gentle Buttermere

Book your place on a beautiful swim to start the day taking in most of the length of Buttermere, followed by a nice little walk.

The swim is guided by paddleboard at a relaxed pace. It involves an easy walk to the water and changing in the open air. We swim a linear route starting in one place and finishing at another, then walking back to Buttermere Village. Although the pace is relaxed you should have prior experience of swimming half a mile or more in open water. You should be comfortable and acclimatised to stay in the water for an hour or more.

Breaststroke is encouraged and experienced skin swimmers are welcome. Faster swimmers can also be accommodated. This swim is not suitable for beginners.

This swim requires a swim bag and lightweight changing towel or robe, both of which can be hired.

Refreshments are not provided on this swim. We go for breakfast after which is not included and is optional (but we hope you can stay).

Dog and non-swimming spectator friendly.

Places cost £15 and equipment hire is available from £5. Places are subject to confirmation. Full details will be sent on booking.
