About the event
There is nothing like the early morning calm down by a lake. On these early morning dips we take things a little slower and enjoy being present as the world wakes up.
Join my relaxed and friendly swim group for a wander down to Wastwater. We walk on an undulating stone track to the lake to swim in the presence of the magnificent Wastwater Screes. The swim is head-up breaststroke and your time in the water is as long or short as you like, within reason. Bring a flask to enjoy a warming brew afterwards. We also go for breakfast at a local café afterwards - this is optional and not included in the price.
This is a dog friendly event, dogs must be on a lead and not cause any disturbance to the rest of the group.
This swim is suitable as a stepping stone from beginner sessions and will help you increase your confidence in open water. However you should have prior and recent wild swimming experience to take part in this event. Please contact me if you are unsure.
February is one of the coldest periods for lake swimming. Swimmers should be have regular and recent experience to take part. Thermal socks and gloves are recommended on this swim. Wetsuits are optional for acclimatised swimmers. Tow floats are mandatory. Kit hire is available. A full kit list will be sent out after you have booked your place.
