About the event

If you've always wanted to give wild swimming a try but aren't sure where to begin, then this session is for you. Jam-packed with practical advice, this half-day introduction to wild swimming is made to give you all the information to safely and confidently start swimming outdoors.

Spaces are limited to keep the group small, which will allow plenty of opportunity for all students to ask questions and get the information they need. There will be both classroom-based sections and swims in a nearby lake so that you get both the knowledge and the experience.  You must be able to swim already: this is not a swimming lesson.

This session is most suitable for first time wild swimmers who have no prior outdoor swimming experience, or very minimal outdoor experience. In this type of session we swim breaststroke. If you already train in a pool and swim distances above 1km please check with me before booking.

There will be a short walk (1 mile) down to the lake and you will need to carry everything you need for swimming.

All equipment is included should you need it, including wetsuits to fit up to 21 stone. Sizing is done in advance and a packing list will be sent to you after booking. Refreshments are provided  (cake, fruit, biscuits, hot and cold drinks)  and you will need to bring a packed lunch.
